GENERATOR SETS
11th Data Center Standard Summit
From November 15th to 16th, 2023, the 11th Data Center Standard Summit, organized by CDCC, was held at the Beijing National Convention Center. Themed ''Reshaping the Future in the AI Era'', the conference invited experts from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, National University of Singapore, as well as academia and industry figures from TikTok, Huawei Digital, Baidu IDC, Alibaba Cloud IDC, JD Cloud, and other leading industry experts. Quality suppliers from the data center domain such as MTU, CAT, Cummins Power, Kohler, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Taihao, Dankong, and Deko also participated. The exhibition attracted nearly 6000 attendees on its first day. Googol, as a service provider offering emergency diesel generator set systems for data centers, was also invited to attend.

In the AI era, computational power stands as a crucial support, making data centers, as the underlying architecture, increasingly essential. Serving as the cornerstone of all things digital, data centers possess high energy demands, where diesel generator sets play a critical role in ensuring safe and stable power supply for data centers. The advantages of diesel generators, such as high power density, strong loadbearing capacity, and small footprint, cannot currently be replaced by energy storage technologies.

Selection Planning
This year, Googol introduced the new”D”series machines specifically for data centers and smart computing centers. These units have a standard operating power range from 1000 kW to 2800 kW, employing a high-displacement, low-lift power design. The design concept aligns closely with counterparts in Europe and the United States. Spanning the 1000 kW to 2800 kW power range, Googol utilizes the same cylinder diameter to cover 12 different power grades across 5 models, resulting in a more continuous power range and enabling more precise power configuration.
The products boast high adaptability, leading positions in performance under conditions like high altitude, continuous operation, and full-load operation. Googol’s power systems, when matched with their custom-designed motors and radiators, offer high reliability and flexible configurations suitable for various scenarios like backup power, continuous power supply, and peak shaving in data centers. The unit control adopts the Googol HGM series controller, enabling the parallel operation of 36 units and providing personalized solutions such as dual-controller redundancy. Additionally, Googol offers containerized diesel generator sets that integrate the main engine, radiator, distribution cabinet, intake and exhaust systems, fire protection systems, and daily fuel tanks. These can be stacked in three layers, facilitating rapid deployment, making them the preferred choice for refurbishing old data centers, high-volume delivery projects with strict building volume ratio requirements, and applications where space is a concern.
Amid the fervent construction of efficient data centers, achieving cost reduction and efficiency improvement poses a challenge.
Cost Reduction and Efficiency
Reduce costs and increase efficiency
Googol is building the future throughout the entire life cycle of its products, aiming for a green, lowcarbon, and cost-effective future. For the engine part of data center diesel generators, Googol employs a series of products with the same cylinder diameter throughout the modular design, which reduces carbon emissions during product manufacturing and keeps emissions relatively low throughout the entire process. Meanwhile, the control system allocates the load more reasonably, ensuring that the engine runs at the same level of load and time, maintaining consistent overall engine life. Googol’s data center diesel generators have a fuel consumption below 190 g/kW. h, outperforming domestic counterparts. In the long term, lower fuel consumption and reduced carbon emissions from numerous and high-power diesel generator units effectively achieve cost-effective and green development. Furthermore, Googol offers a 5-year or 4500-hour engine quality guarantee for data center diesel generator sets, leading the industry in warranty duration, providing customers with worry-free after-sales service and peace of mind.
The company offers comprehensive product lifecycle management support. Original manufacturer-tested and certified components, equipment protection, well-trained quality care service personnel provide debugging, annual inspections, and technical training. The major overhaul time can exceed 25, 000 hours. Through factory remanufacturing, core components like crankshafts employ induction hardening, allowing components to be ground and enlarged. Replacement parts have a high localization rate, low cost, and a supply cycle of less than 4 weeks. The entire major repair process is both time and cost-efficient while strictly adhering to new machine factory standards, ensuring the equipment remains in good condition after repair.
